Casual position Strong connection to community and innovation Richmond Location SACS Level 3 About The Program Our AOD Program works within a harm minimisation framework, focusing on reducing risks for individuals and the community. The team provides practical support, education and care through the Needle Syringe Program, health promotion, brief interventions and safe access to Victoria’s first Medically Supervised Injecting Room. About The Role We’re looking for a casual Needle Syringe Program (NSP) Worker to join our team on an as‑needed basis. Responsibilities Provide sterile injecting equipment, education, and resources to support safer injecting and safer sex practices. Offer information and supported referrals to health, social, housing, and drug treatment services. Engage meaningfully with clients through harm reduction principles, building trust and connection. Monitor and maintain NSP supplies, ensuring the service operates smoothly and efficiently. Contribute to continuous improvement, team collaboration, and the shared goal of community health and wellbeing. Please review the Position Description for a full list of duties and responsibilities here. About You You’re approachable, grounded, and passionate about harm reduction and community health. You bring empathy, professionalism, and practical experience to your work — supporting people with respect and without judgment. Qualifications & Experience A Certificate IV in AOD (or willingness to complete the 4 Core Competencies). Knowledge of harm minimisation and the health issues affecting people who inject drugs. Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with people from diverse backgrounds. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, client‑focused environment. Desirable Qualifications in Welfare, Community Services, Social Work, or related fields.
