Summary Provide effective and efficient services across the Science Department, developing and overseeing a variety of tasks while offering advice, training, and support. Location: Assisi Catholic College, Upper Coomera In this position you will be responsible for: Prepare, set up and pack down practical experiments for Science classes (Biology, Chemistry, Physics and STEM), and provide hands‑on support to teachers and students during lessons. Maintain clean, safe and well‑organised laboratories and prep rooms, including chemical storage and equipment stock levels. Prepare chemical solutions, following safe chemical handling and waste disposal procedures, and keep relevant WHS documentation (SDSs and risk assessments) up to date. Developing and/or administering processes and procedures, and responding to enquires across the Science Department Reviewing and developing local systems and providing recommendations for enhancement Preparing and maintaining science practicums/experiments consistent with the science curriculum Monitoring resources within the Science Department, including the maintenance/storage of equipment, cleaning and disposal and WHS obligations Supervising and training support staff as required About you To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including: Process and procedure development and administration System review and enhancement, identifying areas for improvement Proficiency in preparing and maintaining science experiments and practicals that align with the curriculum, ensuring safe and effective learning environments Resource management and WHS compliance Staff supervision and training Certificate in science or related field For this position you are not required to be Catholic.
