The Role As a 3rd Level Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll design, deliver, and optimise complex infrastructure solutions for clients across Sydney. Your focus will be on end‑to‑end project delivery, combining on‑premises systems with hybrid cloud solutions. You’ll lead projects independently, solve challenging technical problems, drive innovation, and ensure infrastructure solutions support business transformation. What You’ll Be Doing Lead infrastructure projects from design through deployment and optimisation. Design and implement hybrid cloud solutions using Azure IaaS, integrating seamlessly with on‑prem environments. Plan and deliver VDI environments using Citrix, VMware/Omnissa, or Azure Virtual Desktop. Deploy and manage enterprise devices and applications via Intune. Manage Microsoft 365 environments and hybrid identity integrations with Microsoft Entra / Entra Connect. Design, configure, and manage Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy. Administer and optimise SQL Server databases, ensuring reliability, performance, and disaster recovery readiness. Implement, configure and manage VMware vSphere / VCF environments, ensuring scalability, performance, and security. Produce clear technical documentation, project plans, and operational guides for complex systems. Act as the technical authority for infrastructure projects, collaborating with stakeholders and mentoring junior engineers. Required Skills and Experience Proven experience designing, delivering, and optimising on‑premises and hybrid infrastructure projects. Hands‑on expertise with Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy. Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra / Entra Connect. Azure Infrastructure‑as‑a‑Service (IaaS). Intune for enterprise device management. SQL Server administration, performance tuning, and disaster recovery. VMware vSphere / VCF environments. VDI solutions: Citrix, VMware/Omnissa, or Azure Virtual Desktop. Strong knowledge of infrastructure security, compliance, and best practices. Ability to lead projects independently, including scoping, planning, and execution. Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences. Understanding of network infrastructure (wireless/firewalls/switching) in Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, or Palo Alto is desirable.
