Manager - Cargo Budget Management

Range excludes 15.4% employer super contribution Responsibilities leading and managing the performance of a small geographically dispersed team supporting the Assistant Director and Director on matters relating to financial governance, budget development and forecasting activities for the cargo operations pathway processing invoices, journals and accruals analysing credit card transactions and expense transaction listings contributing to financial analysis to drive improved business outcomes for the cargo operations pathway which includes identifying and developing solutions to budget risks supporting the development of financial and budget business processes, strategies and instructional material for the COBM team developing and maintaining professional working relationships with stakeholders to promote the collaborative exchange of budget and business information drafting executive briefs, budget variance reports, monthly forecasting reports and documents to inform budget meetings coordinating and managing the procurement of supplier goods and services for the Cargo Operations Pathway. Please note that this recruitment process will initially be used to fill one ongoing vacancy and that the role may be able to be performed from any of the locations listed above. The merit pool established through this selection process, which is valid for a period of eighteen months from the date the vacancy was advertised in the Public Service Gazette, may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies in the branch where the duties are of a similar nature. What we are looking for Knowledge and experience Experience in budget development and monitoring or in a business finance role. Experience in leading, managing and supporting staff (in person or virtually) to deliver required work outputs to expected standards and timeframes. Experience in establishing and maintaining strong trusted networks with colleagues and stakeholders. Experience with Commonwealth procurement practices (desirable).
