Project Development Officer

ACEnergy is located in Melbourne, Victoria and specialises in Renewable Energy Development and we are growing our presence in QLD. We collaborate closely with landowners, investors and communities to deliver renewable energy projects that are locally supported, economically sound, and environmentally responsible – creating shared value every step of the way. Now, we’re on the lookout for a full-time, passionate Project Development Officer to join our growing Development Team and you’ll be based in Camberwell. About the Role As part of ACEnergy Development team, you have responsibility in managing and supporting the nationwide development process through personal input and management of necessary specialists and consultants and timely handover to client. Day to day activity under direction of Origination Manager will involve taking projects from an early stage through to close, managing budgets, and resources to secure approvals required for completion of development phase to financeable construction ready projects. In addition, you will support and elevate the profile of ACEnergy in the Australian Market to ensure business growth aligned with company vision and goals. Responsibilities Assist in early-stage project development for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS) from concept to construction-ready status. Contribute to business development efforts by enhancing the company’s presence and influence in the National Electricity Market (NEM) to open up new and continuous business opportunities. Support the Origination Manager in executing development strategies across a national portfolio of renewable energy projects. Support project approvals by engaging with a range of State and Federal Government agencies, working alongside the Origination Manager to keep projects moving forward. Coordinate and engage specialist consultants (e.g. environmental, planning, engineering) to achieve key project milestones. Assist securing site acquisition activities, including negotiations, assessments, and agreements with landowners. Support the preparation and submission of planning and development applications, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Support grid connection processes, including grid studies and coordination with network service providers and regulatory bodies. Track and manage project budgets, timelines, and deliverables to ensure efficient progress and resource allocation. Maintain effective communications with stakeholders, including government agencies, councils, and local communities. Ensure all development activities align with internal processes, legal requirements, and industry standards. What will you bring to the role? A background in renewable energy, project development, or related fields – A track record in development of utility-scale solar farms and BESS projects will serve you well in this role. A understanding of application processes from pre-enquiry to final offer stages. You will be a strong communicator with excellent influencing skills that support the negations process. Solid coordination and project management skills. Experience in preparing project briefs, assessing submissions and engaging and coordinating consultants. Brisbane-based (or planning to be) – you’ll work remotely, but we’re growing our presence in QLD. Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Adobe Acrobat.
