We are seeking a Finance and Payroll Officer to assist in delivering excellent financial management services to help enable data-informed decision-making and help deliver high‑quality services to vulnerable and diverse communities. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for core transactional finance functions of accounts payable, receivable and payroll to ensure full compliance and optimal data integrity. Accounts Payable Full responsibility for accurate and timely processing of fortnightly Carer payments, Expense claims, and weekly general supplier payments. Ensure timely and accurate payment of supplier invoices. Reconcile supplier statements and actively resolve discrepancies. Establish and maintenance of supplier records. Ensure ABN, GST, and general supplier compliance. Accurate tracking of prepayments to comply with internal policies. Accounts Receivable (AR) Full responsibility for customer invoicing and receipting Accurate allocation of funding received. Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue accounts. Accurately establish and maintain customer and funding recipient records. Fixed Asset Register Accurate recording of asset purchases and disposals to comply with internal policies. Monthly reconciliation of the Fixed Asset Register Payroll Full responsibility for accurate fortnightly payroll processing including termination payments. Ensure compliance with award rates, superannuation, and tax obligations. Ensure accurate set up of employee records. Work with external salary packaging provider to establish and maintain salary packaging deductions to facilitate timely payments. Ensure accurate recording and tracking of all leave items. Prepare payroll reports and support year-end processes. General Accounting Support general ledger maintenance and journal entries. Daily reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts Monthly reconciliation of other balance sheet accounts Assist with month-end processes including prepare statutory returns including BAS/IAS and FBT Provide support of year end processes including the annual audit preparations and acquittal submissions. Provide guidance and training to service delivery team. Contribute to process improvement initiatives. Ensure to establish and maintain finance specific procedure manual. Selection Criteria Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Commerce (or currently studying) Relevant experience in a similar role of at least 2 years Able to demonstrate proficiency in accounting systems (QuickBooks, Xero etc.) and payroll systems (Employment Hero or similar) Strong grasp of Microsoft office suite products especially Excel Strong attention to detail and sound critical thinking skills Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively. Willingness to learn and commitment to providing quality service. Working knowledge of SCHADS awards 2010 Experience in a not-for-profit environment highly regarded. Why Join Us?
