Salary range Manager : - AUD per annum RSUs Super Senior Manager : - AUD per annum RSUs Super Mission Wise has pioneered new ways for people to transfer money across borders and currencies. Your mission is to enable our APAC Product team to launch new products in AU / NZ through a deep understanding of the regulatory requirements and regulators expectations around them. This is a first‑line of defence hands‑on role embedded in the APAC Product Squad. Responsibilities Creating and improving our products in a compliant and scalable way by deeply understanding both the Wise product and local regulatory expectations in AU / NZ. Supporting Product and other teams on interpreting regulatory requirements and improving processes, controls and our product accordingly. Performing regulatory analysis of new products and services and ensuring that related controls are implemented consistently prior to launch. Enabling product teams to adopt a risk‑based approach in developing products, processes and controls. Regulatory risk management Staying ahead of regulatory compliance trends and the regulatory agenda in AU / NZ. Identifying and aligning with risk owners and second line of defence on the main regulatory issues and risks in AU / NZ. Presenting findings in a clear and understandable way to wider teams and collaborating to define and execute mitigation plans. Regulatory change programs Conducting regulatory change gap analysis and ensuring that implementation plans are executed in a timely manner. Working with global teams to maximise synergies with other regulatory implementations and drive consistency and scalability by leveraging existing Wise Group programs. Empowering Product Teams to build compliant‑by‑design products and services by advising them on regulatory implementation in a customer‑oriented manner while fully adhering to regulatory requirements. Audit and remediation Managing audits and, where required, challenging audit findings in collaboration with Product and second line of defence Risk and Compliance teams. Developing remediation plans and ensuring they are agreed upon across lines of defence and executed promptly. Growth opportunities Grow your hands‑on fintech knowledge at full speed. Qualifications Expert in regulatory compliance with a strong background in AU / NZ financial regulation, including contemporary knowledge of regulatory expectations. Strong communicator with the ability to effectively interact with different audiences (from Product & Engineering teams to external auditors and regulators such as APRA, ASIC, AUSTRAC). Problem‑solving attitude with the ability to analyse and interpret complex regulatory frameworks and apply them effectively with data to drive practical actionable and value‑adding business decisions. A team player with a collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively with different stakeholders such as Product, Risk and Compliance. A natural owner that drives and delivers projects from inception to completion timely and with attention to detail. Legally authorised to work in Australia based in Sydney. Nice to have Ability to prioritise effectively. Previous experience in FinTech or a similar fast‑paced environment. Experience interacting with regulators (such as APRA, ASIC, AUSTRAC) and external auditors. Experience implementing and operationalising operational resilience programs. Willingness to travel as Wise offices are located across different countries.
