After Hours Team Leader Join to apply for the After Hours Team Leader role at City of Gold Coast (temporary role available until June 30, 2026). About The Team The Community Centre team is made up of a group of diverse customer service professionals. We manage bookings for over 35 community centres across the Gold Coast, providing services such as yoga, martial arts, dance, corporate events and auditorium functions. During the week our team handles booking administration; on weekends and evenings the casual team supports customer events and building operations. About The Role The After Hours Team Leader provides guidance and support to casual Duty Officers who assist customers with venue events. Responsibilities include welcoming visitors, maintaining facilities, providing AV support and ensuring a positive customer experience across all 35 centres (open 7am–11pm, 7 days a week). Responsibilities Planning weekend service logistics including rostering of casual staff. Providing City‑wide onsite after‑hours and weekend service, traveling between sites and engaging with customers. Monitoring venue hire through consistent check‑ins. Assisting with weekend set‑up and coaching staff on set‑up and pack‑down activities. Providing AV support and troubleshooting. Ensuring venues are operational, managing minor maintenance and cleaning, and reporting repairs. Offering escalation support for hirers, venues, AV issues and operational matters. Mentoring a team of Duty Officers, including workforce planning and ongoing training. Participating in regular team‑leader meetings to maintain service consistency and improvement. Qualifications C‑Class driver’s licence (mandatory). Ability to work late afternoon–early evening shifts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Problem‑solving skills for customer issues or complaints. Experience in community centres as a Duty Manager or similar service‑focused industry (tourist parks, hotels, convention centres, sporting venues or theme parks) highly regarded. Ability to identify WHS risks and implement immediate controls. Effective verbal and written communication. Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring a small team.
