Maintenance Fitter

Job Summary As a maintenance fitter, you will be responsible for ensuring the mechanical upkeep of our production lines. Your role will involve conducting preventative maintenance, diagnosing faults, and performing corrective actions to minimise downtime and support continuous production. Note that this position operates on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule. Key Responsibilities Performing scheduled inspections, servicing, and planned maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and ensure machinery operates efficiently and safely. Responding quickly to equipment failures and operational issues to minimise production interruptions and downtime. Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults, replacing components, and fabricating parts as needed. Adhering to stringent food safety, hygiene, and health and safety policies and procedures to ensure product quality and a safe work environment. Participating in continuous improvement programs and Total Performance Management (TPM) initiatives to enhance overall equipment performance. Working closely with production operators and other team members to address mechanical maintenance needs, share knowledge, and problem-solve. Accurately recording all maintenance activities and updating the system to maintain equipment history and facilitate reporting, including shift handovers. Managing spare parts inventory to ensure timely availability for repairs and maintenance. Installing new equipment and machinery, including setting up and fine-tuning components according to technical specifications. Applying hygienic engineering principles (GMP) and ensuring all maintenance interventions align with food safety standards. To be considered for this position A relevant trade qualification (mechanical or electrical). Boiler room and refrigeration experience (highly regarded). Previous experience in the food, dairy, packaging or process-related industries would be advantageous. True team player, with a positive "Can Do" attitude.
