About the Opportunity We’re currently seeking passionate and motivated Family Relationship Advisors to join our growing team. With multiple permanent opportunities available – both part‑time and full‑time – these roles offer the chance to make a real difference by supporting individuals and families across several of our helplines, including Family Relationship Advice Line, Gambling Help Line, Redress and Seniors support lines and more. You’ll play a vital role in providing guidance, practical advice and high‑quality referrals to help clients navigate challenging life situations with confidence. As a Family Relationship Advisor with RAQ you’ll be part of an organisation dedicated to creating positive change in the community while working within a supportive team that values your growth and backs you in building a rewarding career. Please note: You must be willing to work weekend and overnight shifts. Responsibilities Provide responsive and high‑quality support to clients, tailoring responses and interventions to their needs. Apply your knowledge of separation parenting and family dynamics to guide clients toward workable arrangements. Apply knowledge around vulnerable cohorts such as those experiencing addictions or abuse or looking for support at a difficult time. Assess client risk factors including family violence or child safety concerns and make appropriate referrals. Support individuals through crisis and connect them with the right service at the right time. Utilise client information systems to accurately record data and manage risk assessments. Contribute to a supportive, collaborative and professional team environment. Qualifications & Experience Undergraduate qualification in Social or Behavioural Sciences (postgraduate qualifications and professional membership highly desirable). Experience in a call‑centre, counselling or client‑service environment, ideally within community services. Knowledge of family separation, parenting arrangements and the impacts of domestic and family violence and addictions. Demonstrated ability to assess for risk, respond to crisis situations and provide safe and appropriate referrals. Ability to engage effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, including First Nations peoples, CALD communities and LGBTIQ clients. Strong computer literacy and confident use of Microsoft Office and client information systems.
