Part-time weekend position based at our Willowbrooke facility in Upper Ferntree Gully Pay rate ranging from $ - $ Great culture with a fun, friendly team and supportive environment Excellent Not for Profit Salary Packaging Benefits About the role We are looking for a qualified Chef/Cook who wants a change of pace and is passionate about working within the aged care sector. About you You will hold relevant certifications and have a comprehensive understanding of Food Safety Laws and Occupational Health and Safety in a kitchen environment. You will have demonstrated experience in all facets of food preparation including managing a team, menu planning, and daily meal preparation ensuring they are fresh, well‑presented and appetising. Furthermore, you will possess the following: Certificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or higher Food Safety Supervisor Training (Health & Community) – HLTFSE001, HLTFSE005 and HLTFSE007 Experience working in a food services environment and supervising staff Interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, employees and volunteers; patience; common sense and an understanding of client service Commitment to work as part of a team and without supervision Ability to be self‑motivated and promote a positive lifestyle environment Well‑developed prioritisation and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines Demonstrated ability to operate with discretion and maintain complete confidentiality Availability to work Saturday and Sunday each week is essential for this role While aged care or disability service experience would be great, what’s more important is that you want to help make a difference to our residents’ lives.
