Payroll Advisor – Queensland Section, RFDS Join the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) as our next Payroll Advisor and be part of a purpose‑driven team that delivers vital health care across Queensland. The position will initially commence as a 12‑month opportunity. Responsibilities What will your day look like? You will support: Payroll Processing Deliver end‑to‑end fortnightly payroll and maintain accurate employee data Ensure all activities comply with RFDS policies, procedures, Awards and Enterprise Agreements Provide timely, accurate payroll advice to employees and leaders Support end‑of‑pay, month‑end and year‑end processes, including reconciliations Reporting & Projects Produce regular and ad‑hoc reports, including WGEA submission support Assist with annual remuneration increases Compliance & Continuous Improvement Participate in internal payroll audits to ensure compliance and accuracy Identify process improvement opportunities and support system optimisation Contribute to business planning, policy development and payroll process enhancement Qualifications 1‑3 years of experience in a similar payroll role Certificate‑level qualification (if applicable) Ability to interpret organisational policies, procedures, industrial agreements and relevant legislation Strong ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities Demonstrated capability in report development Experience with payroll systems and HRIS Confident skills in Excel reporting Strong communication, customer service and attention to detail High level of accuracy in all tasks Benefits 85K + Superannuation (full‑time equivalent) Access to generous not‑for‑profit tax‑free benefits up to $18,500, increasing take‑home pay Hybrid working arrangements available Employee Assistance Program – counselling, nutrition, financial and legal advice Private health insurance discount Fitness Passport – discounted gym and health centre access for staff and family Rem‑Serv Rewards – cashback benefits on purchases from leading Australian retailers About the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) The RFDS is one of the world’s largest aeromedical organisations. Our Queensland service provides excellence in primary health care and aeromedical services across the state, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We deliver a broad range of essential primary and preventative health services, including telehealth, mental health, oral health and health promotion.
