About the Role Help shape the future of Sport and Leisure in Camden. As one of Australia’s fastest growing councils, you will lead the Sport Operations team to drive strategic operational sport services, allocate council's sports grounds and recreation facilities, implement initiatives to optimise facility utilisation, and support financial sustainability. You will support contract management of Camden’s Leisure and Aquatic Facilities, including the new $67 million Oran Park Leisure Centre, and play a key role in shaping how the community stays active and connected. Essential Qualifications and Experience Tertiary qualification in Sports, Recreation or Leisure or a related field, or relevant experience. Experience managing teams that drive change and maximise opportunities in line with council strategic direction. Experience managing complex sport, recreation and/or leisure operations, allocations, and community engagement initiatives. Interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with sporting clubs, associations, service providers, community groups and council staff. Experience developing and implementing policies, procedures, strategies and systems to improve sport and recreation services. High‑level data analysis, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills to improve facility operations and service delivery. Ability to self‑manage time, plan and prioritise work, meet deadlines and targets in a dynamic environment. Commitment to high‑quality customer service and a sound understanding of the sport, recreation and leisure industry, including current trends and funding opportunities. Desirable Experience managing projects or initiatives within the sports and recreation sector. Expertise advising on planning and enhancement of sports clubs, facilities, and grounds. Experience overseeing budgets and procurement practices. Experience with digital booking systems.
