Job Summary Senior Specialist Pharmacist - Outpatient Pre-Operative Services at Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Cambridge.Closing Date : 24 July The role involves leading peri-procedural medication management advice for patients scheduled for cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures or minimally invasive heart valve replacements, primarily within the multi-professional pre-admission clinic. The post also includes training junior pharmacists and other healthcare professionals in peri-operative medicines management and a minor ward-based pharmacy role in surgical or critical care settings. Flexible and part-time working arrangements are available to meet service needs. Main Duties of the Job Conduct independent consultations with patients in the pre-admission clinic, providing guidance on peri-procedural medication management and appropriate prescribing decisions.Lead the development of guidelines and policies within your area of expertise.Provide training and mentorship to professionals on peri-operative medication management.Maintain a minor ward-based pharmacy commitment within the surgical pathway.Promote safe medication management within Outpatients and Day Ward environments and lead quality improvement initiatives or research projects; deliver training sessions to various staff groups.As a senior member of the pharmacy department, you will manage a small team of pharmacists and contribute to the senior pharmacist team.
