She finds joy in the little things: diamond dot art, puzzles, a stroll through the shops, a warm cup of coffee, and the loyal company of her sweet, friendly dog. What she misses most is simple connection – someone to talk to, laugh with, and share a moment of genuine companionship. Even a short visit once a week or fortnight could mean the world to her. Your presence and kindness could turn an ordinary day into something truly meaningful. Because to her, you would not just be a visitor, you’d be a friend. Volunteer Impact Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit and for yourself. Regular visits help improve quality of life and reduce isolation. About HammondCare HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government. It is an independent Christian charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for people in need. Our volunteers partner with us to enhance the lives of people cared for by HammondCare. Commitment & Details Category: Seniors & Aged CareCommitment: Regular – more than 6 monthsType of Work: Companionship & Social Support, Seniors & Aged CareTime Required: We’d be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one‑hour visit between 9am and 4pm on Thursdays or weekends; visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.Training: Training is provided as well as ongoing support by a local Volunteer Coordinator. We offer an extensive online and face‑to‑face training program so you will be well equipped as a volunteer.
