Principal Project Officer

Bring your proven experience in the domestic and family violence (DFV) sector to this dynamic and high‑impact role. As Principal Project Officer, you’ll lead the coordination and delivery of DFV‑related initiatives with a strong focus on outcomes, collaboration and stakeholder engagement. You’ll apply your project management expertise, analytical skills and attention to detail to support delivery of a key DFV project scheduled for completion by 30 June 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful reform and improved safety outcomes for Queensland communities. Primary Accountabilities Lead and coordinate project activities to deliver outcomes within defined scope, timeframes and quality standards. Conduct research, analysis and evaluation to inform evidence‑based approaches to DFV project delivery. Prepare clear, accurate and persuasive reports, briefings, submissions and correspondence for senior leaders and stakeholders. Establish and maintain advisory and working groups to guide project implementation and review. Build and sustain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government and community partners involved in DFV prevention and response. Identify risks, issues and dependencies affecting project outcomes and implement appropriate mitigation strategies. Contribute to continuous improvement and the development of best practice frameworks for QCS DFV initiatives. Key Capabilities Demonstrated experience in the domestic and family violence or human services sector, with a sound understanding of policy, program or service delivery challenges in this area. Proven ability to lead or manage complex projects in a fast‑paced environment, balancing competing priorities and meeting tight deadlines. Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and build productive relationships. High level of attention to detail, analytical ability and sound judgement. Capacity to work both independently and as part of a high‑performing team focused on delivering tangible outcomes. Desirable Requirements Tertiary qualifications in social science, criminology, human services, or project management are highly desirable. Experience working in, or in partnership with, the DFV sector will be highly regarded. About the Project The DFV project is a significant initiative with delivery scheduled for completion by 30 June 2026. It provides an opportunity to make a difference by improving accountability and outcomes for those affected by domestic and family violence within the justice system.
