Teacher Librarian - 0.8FTE - Mayfield East Public School NSW Department of Education – Mayfield East NSW Mayfield East Public School is a dynamic public school situated approximately 6km from Newcastle, on Awabakal Country. Established in 1858, it has a long and proud tradition of strong community support, with an active and supportive Parents and Citizens' Association. Our staff is a mix of early career and highly experienced teachers, all with a wide range of skills, and both staff and parents hold high expectations for our students. Our whole school focus to improve student growth and attainment is underpinned by our understanding of explicit teaching and current research on effective literacy and numeracy instruction. Our research-based approach to improving pedagogical practice aligns with and supports the introduction of the new NSW syllabuses and the implementation of the Plan for NSW Public Education. Selection Criteria Approval to teach library with a demonstrated ability to manage library resources effectively and create a welcoming and inclusive environment that supports the whole school community. Proven capacity to plan and deliver high-quality, evidence-based release from face to face teaching programs, with a strong emphasis on literacy development through additional key learning areas to enhance student learning outcomes. Demonstrated commitment to implementing meaningful, culturally respectful programs that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students throughout the year, ensuring authentic engagement. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and engage effectively with staff, students, and families, and contribute to positive whole school culture. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity. Special Notes This is a permanent part-time position for 4 days, 0.8FTE (full time equivalent). Applicants are to include details of their WWCC clearance number as part of this application.
