Senior Water Resources Engineer – Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Jacobs is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to deliver technically defensible, innovative water resources services with a focus on catchment hydrology and flood modelling. The role will build an industry‑leading reputation across ANZ, win and lead complex projects, and collaborate across disciplines. Responsibilities Prepare proposals, win contracts, and lead both large and small water resources projects. Develop and deliver technical input for hydrology and flood modelling challenges. Provide specialist scientific support to other technical disciplines within Jacobs. Liaise with clients, stakeholders, regulators, and internal teams to support technical delivery. Coach and mentor junior team members to build a high‑performing team. Present information to stakeholders concisely and effectively. Author complex assessments and reports. Implement quality assurance processes, including technical review of deliverables. Manage projects to ensure on‑time, on‑budget, and quality delivery. Qualifications Degree in Engineering or related field. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience leading and contributing to permitting, consent, hazard assessment, adaptation, and infrastructure projects. Demonstrated ability to provide defensible technical input into hydrology and flood modelling. Proficiency with standard tools, techniques, and equipment used in water resource work. Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies. Strong presentation skills for client and stakeholder workshops, consent hearings, community forums, and conferences. Ability to build client relationships and drive business development. Commitment to safety and flexible working arrangements.
