We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated First Year Apprentice Greenkeeper to join the dedicated course maintenance team at Heidelberg Golf Club. This is a fantastic opportunity to begin your career in the turf industry while working at one of Melbourne’s most picturesque and highly regarded golf courses. About the Role As a Greenkeeping Apprentice, you will gain hands‑on training across all areas of sports turf and golf course maintenance while completing a nationally recognised Certificate III in Sports Turf Management. You’ll work alongside experienced greenkeepers and learn the skills required to develop a long‑term career in the industry. This role also includes the exciting opportunity to be involved in a major irrigation upgrade project starting in April 2026, with a brand‑new Rain Bird irrigation system being installed course‑wide — a rare and valuable experience for a first‑year apprentice. Key Responsibilities Assist with daily course preparation and presentation, including mowing, raking, trimming and set‑up Learn the safe and effective operation of turf maintenance equipment and machinery Support irrigation set‑up, watering practices and minor repairs under guidance Take part in renovation works, including coring, scarifying and topdressing Develop knowledge of turf health, including pest, weed and disease identification Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment Attend TAFE and complete all required apprenticeship coursework About You Reliable, punctual and keen to learn Enjoys physical, outdoor work in all weather conditions Able to work well in a team environment Has strong communication skills and a positive attitude Holds (or is willing to obtain) a driver’s license Passionate about turf, sport or environmental work (no previous experience required) What We Offer Full‑time apprenticeship with paid study time Training and mentoring from an experienced and supportive team The chance to be involved in a major Rain Bird irrigation system installation project in 2026 How to Apply Please send your resume and a brief cover letter explaining your interest in the role to: For more information, contact Craig Brown at 0412 949 *** #J-18808-Ljbffr
