Overview Kattsafe is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Aluminium Manual Welder to join our team in Boronia If you have strong welding experience, a keen eye for quality, and a commitment to safety, this could be your opportunity to take the next step in your career. Reporting to the Production Shift Supervisor, the Aluminium Manual Welder is responsible for the accurate manual welding of standard and custom product. This position works with Light‑Gauge Aluminium materials, with the latest, industry‑leading Fronius welding machines. Full uniform provided including safety footwear, welding jackets & Speedglas – AdFlow welding helmets. We offer long‑term stability in a growing business and pride ourselves on our clean manufacturing facilities. This position is to work in our afternoon shift with a team of 4 welders and 6 production staff. Hours of work are 1:30 pm – 10:00 pm. Daily Tasks Interpret and work from engineering drawings, understanding dimensioning, marking and welding symbols Mark out and prepare metal components for cutting, forming, drilling etc. Set up components for welding according to specifications Use MIG welding/fabrication tools to weld Use various electric and manual hand tools Weld/Metal fabricate aluminium components to assemble a completed job Adhere to metal fabrication quality standards Adhere to metal fabrication OHS requirements Ensure all required parts for fabrication are present Ensure quality control standards for fabrication are met Testing/Checking products for their functionality to minimise problems or recalls Report and detail product issues and defects Qualifications & Skills Previous welding or production experience, working with aluminium or similar materials Ability to read technical drawings Understanding of the importance of quality and completing quality checks Working with a small team and willing to help others out with their tasks as required Great at listening and following instructions that keep you safe in the workplace and produce quality work Work with limited supervision Basic understanding of the manufacturing work environment Physically fit to meet manual handling requirements of the position Experience in aluminium, manufacturing, or fall protection industries (a bonus) Qualification/Certification in engineering, manufacturing or related field.
