At CH4 Global we are on an urgent mission to impact climate change using an amazing seaweed native called Asparagopsis. Cows burp methane which over 20 years, is 86 times more potent than CO2 at warming the atmosphere. As a result, methane emissions from animals are by far the single biggest contributor to carbon footprint. Very small amounts of Asparagopsis seaweed, when fed to ruminant animals (that’s cattle, sheep, goats and deer) can reduce their methane emissions by more than 90%. Asparagopsis has almost 10 years of published, peer-reviewed scientific proof of its ability to interact with the digestive processes of ruminant animals to inhibit methane production. About the role This is a casual role based in Louth Bay, SA. We are looking for an Aquaculture Systems Operator to join our ever-growing team. You will operate land-based aquaculture facilities for CH4 Global. This includes but is not limited to Aquaculture system operation, system maintenance, data collection and entry, harvesting, processing, and data reporting. This is a hands‑on role involving outdoor work in varying weather conditions (sun/rain) and some duties in indoor seaweed cultivation systems. Please note that this position is primarily focused on operations and production with minimal research responsibilities. About you You’re passionate about joining a team that’s creating a better world by addressing climate change. You are comfortable working in a high‑paced, dynamic start‑up – we’re talking climate emergency. Ideally, you will have a Bachelor of Biological / Marine Science or related field, or be a high school graduate with experience in aquaculture, but this is not a must. The most important thing is a good attitude and a commitment to doing good work. Importantly, like us, you’ll care about the planet and make a better world for people to live in. Key Requirements Full working rights in Australia (for a minimum 3 years). Full Driver’s License. Ability to manage outdoor tasks in sunny and rainy weather conditions. What Next?
