Welfare Support Officer - in Lakeland (Regional QLD) Why Lakeland, FNQ? It’s the perfect place to enjoy a balanced lifestyle—close-knit, welcoming, and with a slower pace that lets you truly unwind. This is a Full-Time position, flexible working hours are available. Weekend and occasional after-hours work may be required to address urgent matters. We are also open to a Cairns local looking for some casual work and able to travel to Lakeland on Thursday and return Sunday - Accommodation will be provided. We are looking for a person passionate about helping others About the Role: Permanent Full Time Based in Lakeland (accommodation available) Open to Cairns locals – travel up to Lakeland, spend a few days in Lakeland and return home on days off Great for locals or Working Holiday Makers (WHM) wanting to get their 3rd-year visa as well Minimum 6-month commitment required What you’ll be doing: Develop and maintain strong relationships with the Pacific Workforce and act as an advocate for workers within the community. Identify and address issues within the PALM team. Assist with driving to town for shopping. Administrative tasks as required, including timely responses to emails, and ensuring all employment documents are recorded appropriately. Assist with attending appointments and extracurricular activities. Providing general support to our PALM team. What you’ll need: A valid Aus/QLD driver’s licence. Willingness to get an MR (Medium Rigid) licence – we’ll cover the cost. Comfortable driving a bus. Experience in a similar role is not required. Travel Times (just so you know): Lakeland to Cairns: about 3 hours. Lakeland to Cooktown: 1 hour. Lakeland to Mareeba: 2 hours.
