Position ID: Position: Nursing Unit Manager, Medical Oncology Employer: Calvary Mater Newcastle Employment: Permanent Full‑time Location: Newcastle, NSW (Hunter New England area) Responsibilities As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide leadership and direction to ensure the development and maintenance of a high‑performing, evidence‑based, safe and effective Medical and Radiation Oncology Service. You will operationalise strategic plans and department direction within the Medical Oncology Ward, providing operational input into the development of these plans. In addition, you are accountable for the efficient and effective management of the Medical Oncology Ward, patient flow through the unit, and the integration of nursing practices within Calvary Mater Newcastle. Essential Qualifications & Experience Nursing Unit Management or In‑Charge experience in an acute/sub‑acute facility and/or ambulatory setting. Ability to work proficiently in periods of high demand and activity. Relevant postgraduate management qualifications, experience, or working towards. Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and manage a team in a multidisciplinary environment with a focus on optimising patient flow. Demonstrated ability to manage financial and human resources. Commitment to improving health care through quality improvement and implementation of evidence‑based care. Desirable Demonstrated cancer care experience. Remuneration: $69.15 per hour + super + annual leave loading. Incentive: Up to $2,000 relocation incentive by negotiation.
