The Client Partnering portfolio team is comprised of Workplace Relations Consultants who provide end to end advice and support on a number of employee and industrial relations matters. Located in the Business Partnering and Workplace Relations Division, the role has an emphasis on the redeployment of VPS employees, managing the ill health retirement process for sworn employees and undertaking significant sensitive transactional activities assisting Victoria Police in managing its workforce of over 22,000 employees in line with certified industrial agreements and employment legislation. The Division is primarily responsible for all workplace relations matters, HR business partnering, providing advice and support on employees' working conditions and entitlements, managing complaints associated with workplace conflict and bullying, VPS misconduct, undertaking organisation reviews and realignments and redeploying VPS employees to suitable employment. As a key team member, you will participate in a variety of workplace relations activities to support the Client Partnering team. Your work will be based out of the Victoria Police Centre at Docklands. Victoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and supports flexible working arrangements. Responsibilities providing advice and recommendations to stakeholders on workplace relations matters and processes; case management of VPS redeployment; coordination of processes associated with directions to attend the police medical officer; assessing a variety of applications in accordance with policy and delegations; and assisting more senior staff in the case management of complex workplace relations matters. Qualifications an ability to troubleshoot issues and have hands‑on accountability for providing service; strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare a range of written work, including letters, briefing notes and papers; strong oral communication skills, particularly in dealing with sensitive matters; a demonstrated ability in maintaining confidential records and systems and in preparing relevant reports, correspondence and statistics; a good knowledge of HR legislation, policies and practices relating to workplace relations matters; the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and prioritise to meet the varying demands of a complex area; and resilience, pragmatism, innovation and a passion for continued learning. Further Information One (1) x full-time, fixed term position available, until 31 January 2027 (parental leave backfill).
