Junior School Learning Support Assistant

Firbank Grammar is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to work at our Sandringham Junior Campus, commencing at the beginning of the 2026 school year. The Learning Support Assistant (LSA) is responsible for assisting the academic, instructional, behavioural and adaptive needs of students in their care with learning or behavioural needs. The position involves working collaboratively with teachers so that the students who have specific learning needs are able to access extra support. This support is delivered predominantly within the classroom but may on occasions involve withdrawal support. You will work full-time, Mondays through Fridays, during school term times only (0.82FTE), commencing January 27th, 2026. Key Responsibilities: Support the academic, instructional, behavioural, and adaptive needs of students with learning or behavioural needs. Collaborate closely with students, teaching staff and families, developing positive rapport. Collaborate with the Learning Strategies Specialist when required, so they can assess, report, monitor, and record student learning progress. Qualifications and Experience: A minimum of a Certificate III in Education Support, but Certificate IV preferred. Experience with SEN in a school environment is essential. Current Working with Children Check Registration (or willingness to obtain one). First Aid and CPR Certificates (or willingness to obtain one). Salary: Total package at a 0.82FTE = ~$55k - $59k (determined by relevant qualifications and experience).
