Position Overview As a Printing Afternoon Assistant Team Member at Filton Packaging, you will work closely with the Printing Team to assist in the setup, operation, and maintenance of printing machines. Your attention to detail, teamwork, and dedication to quality will contribute significantly to the successful production of our packaging products. Responsibilities Support Printing Operations: Assist in the setup and operation of printing machines to apply designs, logos, and artwork onto flexible packaging materials. Material Preparation: Prepare printing materials, including films and ink, for production runs, ensuring a steady supply to support continuous printing. Quality Control: Assist in conducting regular quality checks on printed materials to verify colour accuracy, print clarity, and overall print quality. Equipment Maintenance: Assist with routine maintenance tasks on printing machines, such as cleaning and changing ink, to ensure optimal performance. Material Handling: Help with the loading and unloading of printing materials on the machines, ensuring efficient and timely production. Workflow Coordination: Collaborate with the Printing Team Leader and other team members to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe work environment. Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly. Documentation: Record production data, material specifications, and any adjustments made during the printing process for accurate reporting. Problem-Solving: Assist in identifying and troubleshooting issues related to the printing process, supporting corrective actions to minimise downtime. Continuous Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives, providing valuable input to enhance production efficiency and print quality. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certifications in printing or related fields are advantageous. Previous experience in a printing or manufacturing environment is a plus, but not mandatory. Basic understanding of printing machine operations and equipment setup. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to use hand tools for equipment adjustments and minor repairs. Carefully follow instructions, quality standards, and safety guidelines to support precise prints on flexible packaging materials. Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move materials and perform physically demanding tasks. Collaborate effectively with other team members to achieve production goals and maintain a positive work environment. Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing production requirements. Comply with safety rules and regulations, prioritize safety in all tasks, and report any safety concerns promptly. Demonstrate a strong work ethic, attendance, and punctuality.
