The Trustee for Salamander Hotel Unit Trust – Salamander Bay NSW Job Type: Permanent position | Full time position Job Description We are looking for a hard‑working chef who is passionate about food to join our growing team at the Salamander Hotel. We are seeking someone who takes pride in their work, has a positive attitude and a growth mindset. There is significant potential to grow in this role and within the group. Our team is dedicated to producing great food, from pub classics to fresh and seasonal specials. When you join, you will work with a team that takes pride in consistent, quality meals, trading seven days a week. The team also enjoys having fun at work. Qualifications & Experience Experience as a chef is required. Cooking of all sections. Understanding of stock control and waste minimisation. Knowledge of all kitchen procedures, food handling and workplace safety. Food safety certificate. Must have at least 2 years of experience. Tasks & Responsibilities Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, such as knives, pans and kitchen scales. Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients. Cook food in a timely manner. Delegate tasks to kitchen staff. Inform wait staff about daily specials. Ensure appealing plate presentation. Supervise cooks and assist as needed. Make slight modifications to recipes to meet customer needs and requests (e.g., reduce salt, remove dairy). Monitor food stock and place orders. Check freshness of food and discard out‑of‑date items. Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area. Pay: $80,000 – $82,500 per year + superannuation. #J-18808-Ljbffr
