Join to apply for the Senior Guardian role at NSW Trustee and Guardian . Overview The Senior Guardian is responsible for delivering quality guardianship services to our customers. This role involves making decisions in line with the Guardianship Act 1987 (NSW), maintaining accurate customer records, undertaking individual and systemic advocacy to achieve positive outcomes, and preparing guardianship‑related case reports for the Guardianship Division of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal. Responsibilities Make decisions about where a person lives and the services they receive, such as personal care and therapy. Consent to medical and dental treatment and health care for the representatives. Prepare guardianship‑related case reports for the Guardianship Division of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal. Work with key stakeholders—family members, health professionals and service providers—to negotiate appropriate options and positive outcomes for the person. Conduct visits to people represented by the Public Guardian in line with the Guardianship Standards. Exchange accurate and timely information with represented people, families, and key stakeholders in compliance with relevant legislation. About You Passionate individual who champions the rights of people with disability. Committed to providing insightful and timely customer service on complex, sensitive, and time‑critical matters. Strong communicator capable of collaborating with key stakeholders, peers, and customers to ensure optimum outcomes. Ability to build strong relationships and support customers in making life decisions. Keen interest in social outcomes, justice, and advocacy, and high empathy and emotional intelligence. Good working understanding of relevant service systems such as the NDIS, aged care and mental health. Key Knowledge and Experience Knowledge of guardianship practice, advocacy and other services accessed by people with vulnerability. Degree and/or equivalent in social work, health, behavioural sciences or related discipline. Available to travel throughout NSW and to undertake after‑hours work where required.
