Product Systems Lead

An innovative product development organisation is seeking a Product & Systems Lead to drive the creation and delivery of new technology-based products. This position combines technical leadership, systems thinking, and cross‑functional collaboration to bring high‑quality, commercially viable products to market. The Role The Product & Systems Lead will provide technical direction across all stages of product development from early concept and design through to validation and manufacture. You’ll work with and lead multidisciplinary teams to define solutions, integrate systems, and ensure successful technical and commercial outcomes. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership: Define and lead the technical vision for new products and systems. Guide teams of engineers and designers through all development stages. System Integration: Coordinate mechanical, electronic, and software elements into cohesive, high‑performing systems. Project Delivery: Support project planning and execution, balancing scope, quality, and time to meet product objectives. Risk & Quality Management: Identify and manage technical and product risks; ensure appropriate design controls and quality processes are applied. Technical Reviews: Lead design and system‑level reviews to ensure technical rigour and compliance with relevant standards. Mentorship: Develop capability within the team through coaching and knowledge sharing. Skills & Experience Degree in Engineering, Design, or related technical discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Systems Engineering). 8+ years of experience in product development, ideally within technology, medical, or industrial sectors. Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary technical teams across the full product lifecycle. Strong understanding of product development methodologies (e.g., systems engineering, design thinking, agile approaches). Experience with design controls, validation/verification, and structured risk management processes. Familiarity with industry or regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or equivalent) is beneficial. Purpose‑led organisation focused on developing meaningful and innovative technologies.
