Assistant Director, Vendor Management – Program Management Office Australian Electoral Commission Pay Range: A$118,146.00/yr – A$133,138.00/yr You will join a team of highly motivated and collaborative professionals that work in the Funding and Disclosure Reform (FAD) Program. The FAD Program was established to enable the AEC to implement and administer legislative amendments to the Commonwealth Funding and Disclosure Scheme as set out in Part XX of the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918 to increase transparency and accountability in Australia’s electoral system. The Assistant Director, Vendor Management Office (VMO) works alongside the Director to manage procurements, contracts, vendor performance and probity for the FAD Program. The role supports coordination across the FAD Program and internal AEC corporate teams to ensure procurements and contract management activities are aligned and effective. The role includes building program capacity and capability through procurement, contract and vendor management and delivering effective governance, assurance, and reporting activities. To excel you’ll have: Demonstrated experience delivering projects, including large-scale recruitment projects (or equivalent), within agreed timeframes and budgets, in a highly operational and legislated environment. Demonstrated experience delivering vendor/contract management services to support program delivery. Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale business, ICT change programs and/or regulatory reform in the Australian Government context. Highly developed ability to build, manage and maintain relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and communicate with influence, whilst engaging professionally to resolve conflict and manage sensitivities. Ability to manage high-performing teams to achieve strategic and operational goals within a complex public sector environment. This includes working under limited direction to manage a team of staff. Ability to effectively identify and manage complex risks in a dynamic and multi-faceted environment. Ability to achieve results in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and within legislative and policy frameworks. Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills. AEC employees must be Australian citizens.
