You'll work across parks, reserves, roads, drainage, reticulation systems, and other public infrastructure. Responsibilities General parks and streetscape maintenance Horticulture duties - planting, pruning, mulching, litter control Safe use of herbicides/pesticides (including spray rigs) Operating tools and machinery (line trimmers, chainsaws, blowers) Supporting the upkeep of sports fields, playgrounds, and public open spaces Promoting a safety-first culture across all work sites Proactively promote Safety by identifying and managing risks either by adopting safe working practices, undertaking preventative maintenance or reporting risks and issues to the appropriate person. Preferred Qualifications and Experience Current 'C' Class Driver's Licence (applicable to Western Australia) First Aid certification (Provide First Aid) Basic Worksite Traffic Management accreditation White Card Experience working in outdoor environments Demonstrated experience within a similar role or industry Experience with hand tools and power operated equipment - specifically Chainsaw Understanding of WHS legislative requirements within the workplace Ability to undertake and follow instructions as directed Ability to work within a team based environment under limited supervision Understanding of horticulture principles including gardening and mowing Possesses a spray technician licence or has significant demonstrated experience applying herbicides/pesticides Additional Advantageous Skills Cert III Horticulture or Parks and Gardens Previous experience within Local Government Previous experience working with water sensitive urban designs MR / HR Truck licence Forklift, Dogging, Rigging HRWL Salary & Benefits Salary range on offer $71,609 - $73,773 per annum (depending on experience) Wellness programs including Fitness Passport, health checks, counselling, and flu shots Additional leave days (2 extra Local Government days per year) Study leave and education assistance Salary packaging and novated leasing Option to purchase additional leave About the Shire Based in Mundijong, just 45 minutes from Perth CBD, our Shire is growing fast - and we're proud of the work we're doing to support the transformation of our community.
