Senior Advisor (Workplace Standards) (AO6) – Workforce Support Position available within the Queensland Fire Department (QFD) – strategy and corporate services division. Location: Kedron, QLD 4031 Tenure period: 3 months (with possibility of extension) Salary: $4,525.40 – $4,832.30 per fortnight About the Organisation The Queensland Fire Department provides fire prevention, preparedness and response services, supporting both the public safety and community resilience across Queensland. Purpose of the Role The Relations and Standards branch ensures the QFD workforce upholds professional and ethical standards. This role advises and supports senior managers, staff and volunteers to manage complex performance and conduct matters, develop strategies to improve workplace conduct, and enhance systems for service delivery. Key Requirements Minimum C Class Driver’s Licence (non-restricted). Extensive knowledge and/or practical experience in human resources, employee relations, or qualifications in these fields (favourable). Travel within area of responsibility; interstate deployment and overnight stays possible. Responsibilities Provide advice on strategies to manage complex performance and conduct matters, ensuring governance and compliance. Partner with stakeholders to develop resources and instruments supporting line managers and volunteers. Analyse performance and conduct data to identify trends, issues and opportunities for continuous improvement. Develop reports and recommendations to retain an inclusive, diverse and capable workforce. Support regional and state offices to build capability for high performance and conduct management. Prepare and review reports, briefs and presentations on key conduct and performance topics. Build and sustain partnerships with stakeholders to reduce instances of poor conduct and improve outcomes. Undertake research projects – data collection, analysis and interpretation – to recommend solutions. Capabilities Stimulates ideas and innovation; leads change in complex environments.
