APAC Business Unit Support is provided from our offices in Brisbane, Perth and Melbourne. This permanent position will be based on‑site at the Tanami Mine Operation in the remote Northern Territory working on an 8:6 fly in, fly out roster from Perth, Darwin, Brisbane or Alice Springs. Full and unrestricted eligibility for employment in Australia will be essential. Your impact Reporting to the Director People, in the position of Specialist People Business Partner you will coordinate headcount planning and lead HR initiatives including change management. You will be the subject matter expert for labour unrest risk handling and HR advisory for the Tanami Mine Operations site leadership team. As part of our team you will Deliver and execute Newmont's corporate HR standards and initiatives across the mine operation Confidently partner with leaders to manage employee grievances and disciplinary matters in line with Newmont policies and legislative requirements including conducting investigations and facilitating fair outcomes Provide expert advice and training to the Tanami site leadership team (SLT) on key HR systems and processes including workforce management, performance management, employee relations and grievance handling Collaborate closely with the wider Newmont HR team to ensure alignment to service delivery and employee data integrity Contribute and champion Newmont Values for key HR initiatives and projects such as diversity and inclusion, change management and employee engagement Assist with the delivery of key people processes including performance reviews, annual remuneration reviews, succession planning, workforce budgeting and cost planning. Prerequisites for your success in the role Degree qualification in Human Resources, Business or related Expert knowledge of employee relations and human resources legislative frameworks in Australia - i.e. Fair Work Australia, common law and enterprise bargaining tools Proven HR advisory capability with site‑based mining industry experience Demonstrated experience in mining project workforce planning including headcount, budget, critical skills analysis, supplier and contractor management, etc Proficient skills in MS Office and SAP software Full and unrestricted eligibility for employment in Australia. Your work environment Newmont has fully owned and operated the Tanami mine since 2002. The mine operates in the remote Tanami Desert of Australia. The mine and plant are located on Aboriginal freehold land that is owned by the Warlpiri people and managed on their behalf by the Central Desert Aboriginal Lands Trust. Tanami is a fly‑in‑fly‑out operation in one of Australia's most remote locations. Tanami is 270 km from its closest neighbours, the remote Aboriginal community of Yuendumu.
