If you are reading this, the chances are you speak Farsi, want to give back to the Community and would like to form a meaningful connection with your elders. Thank you. We are seeking a volunteer social visitor for an elder that lives at home at Pagewood and speaks fluent Farsi and English. She is not as socially active and connected to her community as she once was, but as an elder like to chat and connect with people. Where : It is a home visit in Pagewood, so if you live or work near Pagewood or maybe go to UNSW, this connection could be ideal for you. Buses stop nearby. When : If you could spare an hour or a fortnight to visit and chat with our lovely client, she and her family would be very appreciative. There is flexibility to visit at a time that suits you both. Location : Located in Pagewood, so close by if you live, work or study in surrounding areas of Maroubra, Mascot, Kensington and Kingsford. Your impact Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the client you are matched with. HammondCare HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.
