## **PRIMARY DETAIL****About the Role**We are seeking an experienced Senior Applications Specialist (Workday) to contribute to the configuration, optimisation and ongoing support of Workday across key HR functions. As a senior member of the Applications team, you will provide technical and functional expertise for Workday, helping to ensure system stability, data accuracy and continuous improvement across the University’s HR, payroll and workforce management ecosystem.You will provide senior-level support across multiple Workday modules, assist with complex issue resolution, and work on integrations with systems such as Ascender Pay and Kronos. In collaboration with other senior team members, you will influence the system roadmap, support release management, guide HR and IT stakeholders, and contribute to uplifting capability within the team through knowledge sharing and mentoring. You will also identify opportunities for process improvement and support automation initiatives to enhance overall HR and payroll processes.**Key Responsibilities*** Lead the configuration, enhancement and optimisation of Workday modules and business processes* Oversee integrations between Workday, payroll (Ascender Pay) and time & attendance systems (Kronos)* Provide expert guidance, troubleshooting and escalation support for complex system issues* Drive Workday release planning, testing and deployment activities* Partner with HR, Payroll and IT stakeholders to improve processes and deliver high-quality system outcomes* Contribute to team capability by mentoring and guiding junior specialists* Maintain technical and functional documentation for Workday, integrations and related systems* Participate in change management activities and production deployments**About You**You are a seasoned Workday specialist with deep experience configuring and supporting multiple HR modules in a complex environment. You understand end-to-end HR and payroll ecosystems, including integrations with systems such as Ascender Pay and Kronos, and are confident resolving issues spanning data flows, business processes and system design. You bring strong analytical skills, sound judgement and a collaborative approach, and you are comfortable contributing at a senior level to system improvements, stakeholder engagement and the reliability of critical HR applications.**Reporting to the Application Services Manager (HR), you will have:*** Extensive experience configuring and supporting Workday in a complex organisation* Strong understanding of Workday security, reporting and integration frameworks* Experience with payroll and workforce systems, particularly Ascender Pay and/or Kronos* Proven ability to lead complex problem resolution and system enhancement initiatives* Excellent communication, analytical and stakeholder management skills* Collaborative, proactive and committed to continuous improvement* Familiarity with Kronos or similar time and attendance systems (Desirable)* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to data integrity and process efficiency* Clear communication and documentation skills, with a collaborative and service-oriented approach**To Apply**To be considered for this position, please apply online and attach your resume and a separate cover letter addressing the selection criteria below:* Demonstrated expertise in Workday support, configuration and integration management across multiple HR modules* Experience troubleshooting integrations between Workday and payroll systems such as Ascender Pay* Working knowledge of Kronos or similar time and attendance systems (desirable)* Demonstrated experience across the full application lifecycle including requirements analysis, configuration, testing, release management and maintenance* Proven ability to lead incident resolution, problem management and post-incident analysis* Strong analytical and documentation skills, including the ability to translate business requirements into technical outcomes* Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands effectively*Kindly please note that this position requires a criminal record check.*Macquarie is a university engaged with the real and often complex problems and opportunities that define our lives.
