About Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Services (MHDAS) MHDAS provides integrated and recovery oriented mental health, drugs and alcohol assessment, treatment and community support to people of all ages within the Barwon region experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, mental health and drug & alcohol issues, and their families. Our service is internationally recognised for its innovative clinical programs and integrated models of practice that are client centred, accessible and family inclusive. We enjoy strong partnerships with the local community that provide for seamless integrated care for our clients. MHDAS is entering a new phase of co‑design of our service system with people who access our services and our wider community, building on our nationally recognised unique cultural approach to recovery‑oriented service delivery. The Facility Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac. About the Role The Allied Health Educators (AHE) are responsible for provision of contemporary education and training opportunities for allied health and other direct care workforces across Barwon Mental Health, Drugs & Alcohol Service. The role will provide clinical supervision to Entry to Practice allied health learning participants and other learning and development support to ensure effective mental health, drugs and alcohol service delivery. Acting as a role model for lifelong learning, the AHE displays high quality and evidence-based approaches to education and training and demonstrates positive collaborative relationships across the organisation. About You Bachelor’s degree in either Occupational Therapy or Social Work Current registration with APHRA (discipline dependant) Postgraduate Diploma or Masters in mental health, AOD, education or similar Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (minimum education and training qualification) or working toward successful completion Demonstrated experience and/or interest in education, teaching and learning processes At least 5 years full time experience working within mental health services Experience working as a trained clinical (professional) supervisor in a mental health setting The Culture You will have the opportunity to be part of a highly skilled, professional and dedicated team who take pride in providing high quality services.
