Building Certifier/Surveyor

Building Certifier/Surveyor (Unrestricted) Public Sector People Contract: 6 months | Immediate Start Salary: $80 - $120 p/h + Super, depending on experience Remote options available with occasional site visits as required Responsibilities Assess and determine Construction Certificates (CCs), Complying Development Certificates (CDCs), and Occupation Certificates (OCs) in accordance with the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and relevant Building Codes. Ensure all development proposals comply with the Building Code of Australia (BCA), applicable planning instruments, and council policies. Provide professional advice to applicants, developers, and internal stakeholders on compliance pathways and technical building standards. Conduct critical stage building inspections to verify compliance with approved plans, the BCA, and relevant standards. Identify and document building non‑compliances, issue directions or notices under relevant legislation, and ensure rectification in a timely and lawful manner. Maintain accurate inspection and certification records to support enforcement actions and statutory reporting requirements. Essential Minimum 2 years experience in a Building Certifier position or equivalent. Relevant tertiary qualifications in building surveying or a related field. Current registration as a Building Surveyor – Unrestricted.
