Contract Consultant

The Contract Consultant will support the preparation, execution, and ongoing management of new and existing contracts with Caterpillar’s strategic mining accounts. Career Area Sales What You’ll Do Assist in the creation of relationship and supply contracts. Review contracts for compliance with established risk profiles. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support tender responses. Identify and interpret existing contractual rights and obligations. Recommend process improvements for improved contract lifecycle management efficiency and outcomes. What You Bring Customer focus: understands customer needs and value drivers. Effective Communications Highly proficient in Microsoft Word. Adapts documents and presentations for the intended audience. Demonstrates both empathy and assertiveness when communicating a need or defending a position. Employs appropriate methods of persuasion when soliciting agreement. Maintains focus on the topic at hand. Negotiating Understands and practices basic negotiation concepts. Discerns qualities of effective and ineffective negotiations. Utilizes techniques for establishing rapport and building trust. Relationship Management Provides prompt and effective responses to client requests and interactions. Monitors client satisfaction levels and alerts team to any problems. Differentiates the roles and responsibilities in a business relationship. Works with clients to address critical issues and resolve major problems. Account Management Understands the concepts of account management. Supports the account management team to implement account strategy. Reviews industry journals and company reports to remain current on industry-wide and customer-specific dynamics. Value Selling Communicates product, technology, or service costs and benefits in response to customer requests. Understands general concepts, practices, and benefits of value-based versus product selling. Pursues additional value-selling education or training to enhance traditional sales practices. Additional Information This position requires five days per week in the office with up to 25% travel.
