Location: Melbourne or Brisbane (open to expatriates) Our Client The company specialises in geotechnical work focused on ground improvement. Their projects exclude deep foundations and retaining walls, instead focusing on ground improvement techniques for metro works (like jet grouting), reinforcements for warehouses, commercial, and residential buildings, port developments, dams, reservoirs, wind farms, power developments, mining, and infrastructure. Scope Focus: Geotechnical design specialising in ground improvement (GI) techniques. Team: The design team is small, with 4-5 full-time designers at the main office in Assiné, Ivory Coast. Stimulation: The role involves managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Design & Tender: Support business development teams from the start of the tender phase and produce tender designs. Detailed Design: Perform detailed design phases upon project award, including modelling and preparing calculation notes. Project Execution: Be involved throughout the execution phases, which includes internal validation, reviewing test results, and ensuring compliance with design specifications. Site Support: Provide site support as needed (though site inspections are not mandatory). Qualifications Experience Level: Ideally 5 to 10 years of experience, preferably 5 to 7 years. Experience in ground improvement (GI) is preferred. Foundation experience is acceptable, but GI is prioritised. Familiarity with ground improvement techniques such as Cement Mixed Columns (CMC) and rigid inclusions is important. Exposure to design engineering roles is required. Software Skills: Required software skills include Plexis, SlopeW, and internal design software developed by the company. New hires will receive several weeks of training on internal tools.
