Position Summary Make Someones Weekend Join Our Volunteer Team Looking for a meaningful way to spend your weekend? The HammondCare Volunteer Program offers a special opportunity to bring joy, connection, and companionship to older people in your community. Responsibilities As a Weekend Volunteer Social Visitor, you’ll spend time one-on-one or in small groups with residents in a care home, offering genuine connection and heartfelt moments that brighten their day and yours. You will be available to host one‑hour visits between 9:30 am–12:00 pm or 1:00 pm–4:00 pm on Saturdays or Sundays. If weekends don’t suit, we’re happy to discuss weekday options with visits taking place any day between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm, weekly or fortnightly depending on availability. Please note: Volunteer interviews and orientation must take place on a weekday during business hours. Impact Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers help improve the quality of life and make people feel less isolated. About HammondCare HammondCare is an independent Christian charity passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need. We partner with volunteers to enhance the lives of those cared for by HammondCare. The program is part of the Australian Government‑funded Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme. Weekday options available between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm, weekly or fortnightly based on availability. Training Training is provided as well as ongoing support by a local Volunteer Coordinator.
