Share a Chat or Stroll, Share a Smile – Be a Companion for a Senior Seeking a kind and reliable volunteer to support an elderly resident by providing companionship and/or short garden walks. This role offers a wonderful opportunity to provide companionship and promote well‑being through light outdoor activity. About the role Friendly conversation and light walking Flexible days and times Burmese‑speaking is a bonus, but not required Ideal for someone who enjoys the outdoors and connecting with others This is a lovely opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone's day. Your impact Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated. HammondCare HammondCare is a provider of the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community. HammondCare is an independent Christian charity and we're passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need. We have a wonderful group of volunteers that partner with us to enhance the lives of people cared for by HammondCare. Category Seniors & Aged Care Commitment Regular – more than 6 months Type of Work Companionship & Social Support, Seniors & Aged Care Time required We're looking for some friendly volunteers to provide one‑hour visits between 9:30 am–12:00 pm or 1:00 pm–4:00 pm Monday to Sunday. Please note: Volunteer interviews and orientation must take place on a weekday during business hours. Training Training is provided as well as ongoing support by a local Volunteer Coordinator.
