Dealership Accountant

Reporting directly to the Dealer Principal, this full-time position oversees financial operations across our dealerships and associated family entities. You will lead a dedicated administration team, ensure financial accuracy, and actively support the leadership group with timely reporting, insights, and strategic input. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and develop the administration and finance team. Oversee end-to-end financial operations including accounts, cashflow, statutory compliance, and KPI reporting. Drive timely and accurate month-end results to support performance management and improvement initiatives. Monitor costs and payments, ensuring all returns and obligations are completed correctly and on time. Partner with department managers to improve processes, controls, and business performance. Support the Dealer Principal with HR-related functions and broader operational discussions. Contribute to long‑term planning and growth strategies across the dealership group. About You Proven experience in an accounting role; dealership or financial controller experience highly regarded. Strong understanding of financial accounting, budgeting, forecasting, tax, and cost control. Confident leading teams and building positive working relationships across departments. Comfortable improving processes, driving efficiency, and supporting digital transformation. Excellent communication, organisation, and time‑management skills. Proficient with business systems; DMS experience desirable. Tertiary qualifications in accounting (CPA/CA advantageous but not essential with strong dealership experience).
