The Opportunity We are seeking a talented Solicitor or Senior Associate to join our asset and structured finance team in Sydney. This is an exciting opportunity to work with sophisticated clients on high‑profile matters involving cross‑border transactions and cutting‑edge financing structures and learn from Partners Steven Catanzariti and John Angus as well as Executive Counsel Adam Parkin. What you’ll do Advise on a broad range of asset finance and structured finance transactions including aviation, shipping, mining and equipment finance as well as cash‑flow related financing. Draft, review and negotiate complex financing documentation including loan agreements, security documents and inter‑creditor arrangements. Play a key role in transactions from inception to completion ensuring deadlines are met and client expectations are exceeded. Provide strategic, commercially focused advice to clients anticipating risks and identifying innovative solutions. Mentor and support junior lawyers, fostering technical development and knowledge sharing within the team. Stay ahead of market trends and regulatory developments. Explore opportunities to leverage technology and AI tools to improve internal efficiencies and enhance client outcomes. What you’ll bring 3–7 years’ experience as a lawyer gained in a leading banking and finance practice. Whilst asset or structured finance experience is beneficial we are also open to considering candidates with broader corporate finance experience. The Finance Team Our national finance practice acts for leading national and international banks and financial firms as well as major corporate sponsors and governments, providing a rounded perspective and deep understanding of the market. We have extensive experience in finance transactions at all levels and with varying transaction security and document structures. Our practice covers secured and unsecured bilateral and syndicated lending transactions in the corporate real‑estate, projects and acquisition space, debt capital markets, securitisation, structured finance and asset finance. Our team regularly acts on market‑leading transactions across these areas. We also advise on the design and documentation of financial products and advise on the regulation of those products.
