A Day in the Life An exciting new opportunity has opened for a Principal Communications Specialist based in our Head Office in Macquarie Park, Sydney, on a 13‑month fixed‑term contract (Maternity Leave Cover). Joining our EurAsia Communications team and spearheading ANZ corporate communications initiatives, you will work with talented, friendly and highly professional team members in delivering corporate communications strategies to elevate our brand, engage our employees and reach audiences with our life‑changing therapies. Responsibilities Under the leadership of the Snr Director Communications APAC, directly manage internal and external communications strategies to promote, enhance and protect the organization's reputation with relevant ANZ audiences. Drive comprehensive 360 communications strategies, activations and projects that position Medtronic as the leader in Healthcare Technology, a trusted local partner and employer of choice to external audiences. Manage ANZ public relations efforts and maintain local media/association relationships and support dissemination of information and releases. Prioritize and execute therapy‑specific awareness and product launch initiatives with Operating Unit and Marketing Leaders, and create communications campaigns that meet business objectives. Develop internal communication strategies to enhance employee engagement and brand ambassadorship among employees. Lead major internal employee events such as kickoff meetings, holiday programs and patient story sessions. Advise and support senior leadership in communicating to external and internal audiences. Work with ANZ leadership and Global Communications teams to manage local issues and crises, media relations, and patient advocacy. Share and scale best practices across EurAsia teams, with occasional global project work designed to streamline communications efforts and practices. Required Knowledge and Experience Degree is essential with 8 years relevant experience. Excellent written, verbal, copy editing, and presentation skills in English. Public relations and media management experience. Core business acumen and general understanding of the healthcare marketplace. Knowledge and understanding of both traditional and emerging communications channels, including social media and digital platforms. Experience developing, executing, and measuring strategic communications initiatives and campaigns that deliver results; expertise managing project timelines and budgets. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic relationships and communicate complex concepts with key influencers. Demonstrated ability to influence organizational decision‑makers (internal / external).
