Bethanie is a leading not for profit aged care provider based in Western Australia. For nearly 70 years, we have been empowering ageing Australians to lead their most meaningful lives by recognising ‘old age’ as a positive force in society and giving a voice to those who have seen it all and live to tell the tale. We are currently seeking experienced Kitchen Hands to join the team providing support services at Bethanie Dalyellup Aged Care Home. Bethanie Dalyellup is our newest site, with 120 beds across six small houses providing 24 hour care for people with diverse needs including dementia, palliative care and high care requirements. This role is offered on a permanent, part time basis. 15 – 20 hours per week with morning and afternoon shifts available. As a Kitchen Hand, your responsibilities may include serving meals, food preparation or assisting in the onsite cafe. To be successful in this role, you will have experience or an interest in food preparation and be of a friendly nature, as interaction with our residents is core to our culture. You may also have the opportunity to be trained in and work across the roles of Domestic Assistant / Cleaner and Laundry Assistant. About You Possess a passion for or previous experience working as a Kitchen Hand, ideally in an aged care, hospital or similar environment Have a ‘can do’ attitude and a genuine compassion for our residents Reliable with a strong work ethic Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The Bethanie Group Willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations (minimum of one covid vaccination and annual flu vaccination) Current National Police Clearance (or willingness to apply for one) The Role Ensuring responsible work practices of food preparation, kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards Ensuring required ingredients are available daily Assisting in the preparation and serving of meals Maintaining all utensils, equipment, work benches and general surrounds in a clean and safe condition Collecting and washing pots, pans, crockery and cutlery Working with Bethanie Many of us work because we want to make a difference.
