About the Opportunity Join our ever‑growing shire as a Strategic Planner in our Planning Strategy and Urban Design team This is an exciting career opportunity to play a pivotal role in developing and implementing an integrated strategic planning framework. You’ll contribute to sustainable outcomes for our natural and built environments while enhancing community wellbeing. You will make an impact by Assisting in the preparation and processing of planning scheme amendments. Representing Council at panel hearings under senior team supervision. Conducting research on strategic issues and opportunities and drafting reports. Engaging with internal and external stakeholders on strategic planning projects. Providing advice and information on strategic planning matters. What You Will Bring Knowledge of planning legislation and ability to interpret planning schemes. General knowledge of broad urban planning issues particularly those in Melbourne’s south‑eastern region, and issues facing growth and Green Wedge areas. Ability to effectively plan, organise and manage your own time and workload including achieving specific outcomes within set time frames against conflicting priorities. Well‑developed written and verbal communication skills. Ability to research information from a variety of sources and collate and present data in a meaningful way.
