Picklebet is a next generation esports, sports and racing betting platform and media brand. Australian owned & operated, we are set to become a major player, both in Australia and internationally. Purpose of this role: We are seeking a talented Analytics Engineer to accelerate a culture of data-driven decision making. This crucial role is responsible for enabling self-service analytics, maintaining reliable data flows, and building advanced analytical models and visualisations to uncover new insights. The ideal candidate will be a data enthusiast with strong analytical and programming skills who possesses a curious mindset, excellent commercial acumen, and the ability to be a self-starter in our startup environment. Work within the data analytics team, and reporting to the Head of Data and Analytics, you will have the opportunity to own your role and do world-class work. Responsibilities: Design and maintain our data warehouse in line with DataOps principles Manage and expand dashboards, reports and analysis Optimise and curate our library of BI analytics and metrics Collaborate with team members to increase their data literacy Understand the customers needs and solve problems as they arise Maintain data governance and stewardship, including data quality rules, documentation and security Ideally you’ll have: 3+ years experience in Data Analytics/ Engineering with proven experience in designing data models and dashboards, with an emphasis on self-service accessibility Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics or Applied Mathematics would be advantageous, otherwise equivalent experience in a betting company, ecommerce, DTC brand, internet company, or similar Proficient in platforms;SQL (Snowflake, Postgres), dbt, Python, Cloud service management, preferably AWS or GCloud, and a modern visualisation tool; Looker or Lightdash preferred Experience with Turnkey ETL tooling (Fivetran, Estuary, Temporal etc) and Martech platforms (Segment, Braze, Mixpanel, Full Story, GA4) A solid grasp of software engineering fundamentals, including Git, CICD, and automation A working knowledge of statistics, machine learning, causal inference or time series analysis Strong communication skills, particularly with non-technical audiences. An interest in one or more of the following; betting, esports, gaming, financial markets and/or sports would be beneficial.
