ABOUT THE ROLE St John NT is currently seeking a Workplace, Health, Safety and Environment Field Officer to join its People and Culture team. The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including conducting audits and inspections, managing emergency protocols, and handling hazardous materials and dangerous goods. A successful WHSE officer will demonstrate excellent communication skills and problem-solving capabilities to foster and uphold a safe working environment. The selected candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to, the following responsibilities : Overseeing and managing St John NT's chemical database system, which includes conducting risk assessments and ensuring the safe use of chemicals. Performing hazard identification, incident investigations, corrective actions, workplace inspections, and risk assessment activities, including necessary reviews. Assisting in the rollout of new policies and procedures throughout St John NT. Proactively identifying and recommending improvements to work practices and outcomes. Conducting workplace inspections and internal audits while ensuring compliance with incident reporting and investigation processes. ABOUT YOU Ideally hold a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or an equivalent qualification 1–3 years of relevant industry experience Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, databases, and various software packages Strong background in HRIS and other HR tools This position will require some travel to some of our regional locations.
