Role: Category Manager – ICT & Corporate Services Location: Sydney CBD (Hybrid & Flexible Work Options) Join Local Government Procurement (LGP) We’re looking for a strategic and experienced Category Manager to lead a portfolio of ICT and corporate categories, driving high-quality contracts, elevating procurement practices, and delivering value to councils across NSW. What You’ll Do Lead and grow a portfolio of ICT and corporate categories Develop and implement portfolio, category, procurement, and contract strategies Strengthen the quality and uptake of LGP contracts across NSW councils Manage the commercial and financial performance of your portfolio Build strong relationships with councils, suppliers, and internal teams Provide expert procurement and category advice Monitor contract performance, risks, and supply chain dynamics Represent LGP professionally and uphold our Purpose, Vision, and Values This role is central to LGP’s procurement transformation journey, giving you the opportunity to champion innovation and design smarter procurement solutions for the sector. What We’re Looking For Essential: Qualifications in procurement, supply chain, business, legal, engineering, or similar Demonstrated category management experience—ideally Indirect categories in government, infrastructure, manufacturing, or complex environments Success leading high-value procurement projects and large panel contracts Strong contract management, analytical, and commercial skills Excellent communication, relationship management, presentation, and negotiation abilities Ability to work autonomously while contributing to broader organisational goals Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Australian work authorisation at time of application Desirable: Understanding of NSW local government legislation Professional memberships (CIPS, IAPM, PMP, IACCM) What You’ll Get Hybrid, flexible working Modern Sydney CBD office (3-minute walk from Wynyard Station) A supportive, ethical, and values-led team culture The chance to lead meaningful change and deliver tangible results for NSW communities Ready to Apply?
