About The Team Our Operations team works with a diverse customer base to support several nationally significant supply chains. With management responsibility spanning across five states, our 8,500km rail network is used to transport bulk products, passenger and general freight, including steel and a vast array of consumer items such as groceries, electrical goods and other items for both import and export markets. The Operations teams work within several complex and challenging environments, including some of the busiest rail corridors in Australia to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable service delivery outcomes for its customers, stakeholders and the community. About The Opportunity The primary purpose of the Work Group Leader (Signals) is to supervise a Signal discipline delivery work group to deliver the work allocated by the Area Manager and to ensure the operational integrity and efficiency of signalling assets in a designated section of rail corridor. Some responsibilities of the role include, but not limited to: Promote and encourage a positive culture within the team. Supervise employee and external contractor performance and productivity. Effective maintenance of materials, tools, vehicles and equipment to functional standard. Conduct mandatory systematic inspection, examination, condition monitoring and functional checks on the rail infrastructure. Take appropriate action to ensure rail infrastructure is in a safe operational condition. Install and maintain mechanical signalling locking, and interlocking devices infrastructure and equipment. Maintain aerial signal/telecommunications lines and cables. Recommend improvements in the maintenance and works processes. Complete Work Group activity sheets and costing for all completed tasks. What do we want from you? Detailed knowledge of a single rail infrastructure discipline. Ability to supervise teams for effective performance. Knowledge of or an awareness of Work, Health and Safety principles and relevant rail safety legislation. Safe working qualified (PO1 minimum, PO2 desirable). Drivers Licence Class C. ARTC Statement of Competency (Signals) or demonstrated ability to attain as per Signals Competency Assessment (EST-20-03). What will you get from us? Talk to us about flexible working options.
